October 27, 2016: backyard wedding in Washington, DC
Rebecca and John said their vows in the back yard of her childhood home. She grew up in Washington, DC's Chevy Chase neighborhood. I arrived before the ceremony to capture Rebecca's preparations; my second shooter Harold shot John's.
The couple designed their own rings. I think they did a great job!
The green foliage and the golden sun provided idyllic scenery for the wedding itself.
You gotta love the look on John's face when Rebecca walked onto the porch and up the hill with her dad. The couple supplemented the usual traditions with sand pouring and glass breaking.
Rebecca and John sure know how to throw a party. All of the guests got their fill of food, drink, and company.
Without a doubt, the group portraits that afternoon were the most entertaining I've shot so far...
Next came toasts and cupcakes.
I don't usually post this many photos, but there were too many favorites to leave more out!
I got a little abstract as the night wound down, even exploring the basement in search of something new to shoot. All in all, this ceremony was a blast to cover. Thanks again, Rebecca and John, for inviting me to document your nuptials!
