April 23, 2016: chapel wedding in Lanham, MD
A few weeks ago, I crossed a new milestone: my largest solo wedding ever! Tanya and Yorky started their day at the Courtyard Marriott in Greenbelt, MD. I visited Tanya's suite first. She's a professional make-up artist, so she did her own.
The guys were very relaxed. Yorky was cranking some old school rap when I arrived (and, as you can see, singing along). He wore some sweet socks. Before the guys left for the wedding venue, one of Yorky's groomsmen gave a toast.
The ceremony was short and sweet. Yorky was pretty pumped at the end.
After the ceremony, we took some photos under the canopy in the front of the chapel. I think I've fallen in love with the 24mm focal length.
The nearby reception hall had a mirrored ceiling and a huge chandelier. As a result, I took a lot of shots without flash (to avoid "disco ball" lighting).
After the first dances and dinner, Tanya and Yorky's friends and family spoke words of appreciation and encouragement. It seemed like half of the guests took the mic at one point or another.
The night ended with cake cutting, dancing, and the bouquet toss.
Congratulations, Tanya and Yorky!
